Cult Heroes

“The choppers and the stoppers...the posers and the playboys”

Sure we can all name those players who have won the World Cup and those with the Ballon d’Or on their resumes, but how about a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy winner or a Blue Square Premiership Golden Boot on their CV?

For too long football fans have focussed their cheers and attention on those playing in the Champions League, or earning £150,000 a week, while ignoring all those who make the game what it is, those who have made great sacrifices, and those whose game revolves around much more than just trivial matters like goals, skill, technique and ability.

No! This is the start of a campaign to recognise talents that can’t simply be measured in trophies and awards. No more shall we continue to pander to the celebrity of the Ronaldo’s, Messi’s and Kaka’s of this world, please arise, the real heroes of football!

Keep visiting this section to keep track of football's unheralded stars. If you have a player you feel deserves a nomination, then let us know!
